HISTORY:
A thousand years ago, a great war erupted in the farthest reaches of the galaxy and was caused by two beings of light and shadow from the future -- Ultraman Ginga and Dark Lugiel. As the two clashed, Lugiel unleashed his darkness upon those who fought, including Ginga, and were transformed into Spark Dolls. Many of these dolls were scattered about in the universe and some ended up on Earth, and left still as time passed.
The son of both rock musicians and grandson of a shrine priest, Hikaru was born and raised in a small town of Furuhoshi and grew up with big dreams to become an adventurer. While he spent his childhood there, by the age of 10, Hikaru's parents decided to move out from Japan and to England to further work on their careers, taking Hikaru along with them. And due to his parents' work, Hikaru frequently traveled places within England and America, but longed to seek adventure outside the big cities.
Seven years later, something drew the 17-year old Hikaru to return to his old hometown. And on that one summer's day he returned to Japan and to Furuhoshi. Upon arrival, he was drawn by the local shrine's idol which seemed to be calling for him. Deciding to look further into it, Hikaru snuck into the shrine one night, only to find the idol to be a strange alien artifact, and gaining a strange mark on his hand upon obtaining it. It was there then he met Ultraman Taro, the only remaining survivor from the war whose conscience is intact, and was revealed that he was marked as the chosen savior who can wield the power of the Ginga Spark.
It was then during his stay in Furuhoshi is when trouble started brewing. Behind the scenes, an unknown hand had been sending out agents reawakened from their Spark Doll state to make use of the darkness in people's hearts in preparation for Lugiel's revival. Being the chosen savior, Hikaru used the Ginga Spark's power to fight off these agents and rescue victims from the agents' dark influence as Ultraman Ginga.
But the inevitable happened and Lugiel was revived from the darkness that was collected, plus with the despair of others' fueling him. He and Ginga were outmatched at first, but with the help of Taro and everyone's renewed hopes, his strength returns, enough to face Lugiel for one final clash, reaching their battle out of Earth and into the moon. And thanks to everyone's hopes and faiths reaching out to Ginga and Hikaru, they had finally taken down Dark Lugiel.
With Lugiel now defeated, Ginga took all the Spark Dolls who were stuck on Earth and brought them back from whence they came from. Taro and Ginga their bid farewells to Hikaru and his friends, but not before Ginga promising his human partner that they will meet again when his dream is realized.
But unbeknownst to Hikaru, this wasn't the last he'll see of Lugiel.
Two years later, a now 19-year old Hikaru was travelling around the world aiming to follow in the footsteps of famed explorers before him and solve many of the world's mysteries. While in Yucatan, Mexico a sudden earthquake occurred followed by discovering a large crystalline structure coming out from the earth. Immediately Ginga reached out to Hikaru for the first time in a while, and drew the young man back to Japan and to the city of Shizukugaoka. It's there where he met members of UPG dealing with a rampaging giant monster, and that he learned of a group of aliens led by Alien Chibull began threatening that peace yet again by mining for Victorium crystals.
Eventually Hikaru was scouted and recruited into the newly established UPG (Ultra Party Guardians) tasked to solve various paranormal cases and strange occurences happening around them. He then met Shou, a mysterious young man who hailed from an ancient underground civilization, and the chosen one who wields the power of Ultraman Victory. And although they've butted heads at first, the two quickly settled their differences and work together knowing they share a common goal. He was not the only companion he gained, as many more joined to aid the two, including Ultraman Taro who returned and lent his power to Hikaru and Ginga -- obtaining a new form in the process.
However things turned for the worse when Alien Chibull managed to ressurect Dark Lugiel and made his way towards Earth. Not only that, the high commander of UPG executed an operation that involved the use of a powerful weapon energized by the crystals that the aliens were looking for. Despite Hikaru's and the reaction team's opposition, they ended up getting suspended and banned from their base. Alien Chibull took the opportunity to hijack the base and have the weapon merge with Lugiel, transforming into a being of pure destruction.
Energized by the the Victorium crystals, Hikaru and Ginga were overpowered by Lugiel's newfound strength. It's to a point where Ginga warned the young man of his weakened state, deterring him from fighting any longer. One mishap however forced both Ginga and Victory to sacrifice themselves to spare the lives of both Hikaru and Shou, now placing them in a rather hopeless situation.
That's when their friends gathered together and combined their strengths in order to help prevent the people of Shizukugaoka from falling into further despair. Through the power of bonds and the people's will to stand against Lugiel, Hikaru and Shou reunite with Ginga and Victory and revived the two Ultras. Their final stand led to Lugiel's fall, completely defeated once and for all.
Peace was restored, and Hikaru continued to work with UPG after that.
...Then there's the Ginga S movie, the 2-episode crossover in Ultraman X, all of his other movie appearances, and Ultra Galaxy Fight, but that's a lot to talk about. Don't make me summarize all that that's a decade's worth of content send help-
